Cynicism Is Easy, Optimism takes work

I recently had a conversation with a friend about my twitter journey. I told him about how random accounts have responded with kindness in Dms when I was just a smoll account. To which he replied 'Did you have your fancy college tag and links in bio back then?'. Yes but I removed it and became an anime pfp(very cool made with mid journey btw :D ) account. Look at all these people who know me just from my words and am able to help them.

'Ya but do they actually read?'. Yes! I get dms asking specific questions. So many that I find it hard to meaningfully answer these days. But still try my best. 'But will they actually implement? It's all useless, just intellectual feel good content'. I hope people take action. Even if one person I can help in some positive way would be so cool. And anyway the point was just to log my thoughts and opinions. If nothing else AI can train on it!

It is easy to be cynical in this world. It takes effort to be genuine, to be positive. Seek to understand and not judge. Lex Fridman is a prime example of this. He talks about love all the time. I have been following him since the days of his podcast being called 'The Artificial Intelligence Podcast'. Yet the first time I saw comments under his posts I was shocked. Hate. Mockery. Cynicism. Welcome to the internet.

But it is a small percentage. It is easy for this brain of ours biased towards negativity to really realise this. And tbh the people on the internet are not real. Even in life, people show specific sides unless you have been close for very long. It is even more curated on the internet.

Over the years I have just decided to be more optimistic than cynical. I am worried about certain things and see the darkness of this world. But I try not to let it affect me. It is easier to be happy that way.
