Kartikay

You clicked at least 2 links with the desire to know me better to get here. I am flattered. So here is the spiel.

I was born and raised in Delhi, India. I have always had this sense of wonder about the world. I grew up reading a lot. Mostly fiction. Hard SciFi, High Fantasy, you get the idea. I was good at academics and my parents kinda lemme do whatever I wanted. Ever since I was 10 I had my own room, no oversight, and an internet connection(yeah I know, it could have been a disaster). I discovered so much. From the VlogBrothers to Richard Feynman. Changed so much. For the better. Mostly.

Growing up, I saw the adults around me with no sense of curiosity or wonder about the world. It scared me that I would be one of them one day. Thankfully, as a (semi) adult now, my own sense of wonder has been intact for the most part. It is something I am always trying to nurture and preserve.

I always loved physics and wanted to be a physicist, but alas, life had other plans. Ended up with a bachelor's and master's in computer science. Two of my favorite fields in the subject have been theoretical computer science, with it approaching weird conclusions and many lines of enquiry leading to open problems. The other being computer architecture. Somehow, it felt more raw and real. We abstract out the transistors and electron flow to 0s and 1s and work up from there. Probably it is the closest to physics a computer engineer can get.

This blog is just me. I decided to put myself out there more. Share my honest thoughts and opinions. Who knows maybe I will say something profound that changes someone's life? If not at least a part of my consciousness will be in the future AGI training dataset. Not bad eh?
